How fast another year goes by since I last drafted a letter to you on the 1st anniversary that you left us for your heavenly home. As I sit here in the living room of our Singapore home, so many memories flash by with an awe of how much we've done together in our lives on earth from the first time I met you in this home. Yes it was Paul Sng your single adult friend, who lived in the neighborhood who became my junior companion at the end of my mission, whom you invited for dinner and I got to tag along to meet you again for the first time in this very home.
On the eve of your 2nd anniversary before dinner time, I walked to the nearby Sheng Siong, that has become a 24 hrs supermarket today, to get some things to cook for dinner. Now since you left us, I became a Mr. Mom to care for the boys and became a reasonably good cook. For some reason I decided to try baking which I have never done before but I started to think of the nice cheesy meals you had cooked for us. For some time now I had been noticing a collection of cheese building up in the fridge which I've never bought but must have been given by kind friends or family members during the time I had to be away in KL. So before I left for Sheng Siong, I googled the internet to check for the recipe of a beef and cheddar casserole as all the cheese we had was only cheddar, lots of it! Now as a prepared person always with a back up, I decided that I would make sure I get dinner successfully ready and fast with cooking spaghetti for the boys. Then with left over spaghetti after the boys had eaten, I took out the smallest Pyrex casserole bowl and started experimenting with the left over spaghetti with new ingredients and posted my joy on facebook below :
My heart is truly of great joy each day for many different reasons. I will use pics, videos and links in this letter of Nov 2014 to express my heart and mind to you, as if you are still here in this home.
For instance in the whole month of October last month, the month we celebrate the Birthdays of our October babies, is a good sample month of how my life is filled constantly by happy activities with friends and family members. Furthermore in this same home I'm now writing this post, I continued to experience little coincidences or miracles that make me smile as in the morning of Han's birthday on October 19 which has been added to My Story of 7!
I feel happy and satisfied that I have lived a life of engagement and not retreat. This engagement was either through building family or human relationships, leading in the business world solving system problems and last but not least, consistently seeking and sharing spiritual answers that brings joy for myself and my neighbors. I have been actively engaged with the public through social media and above is the banner showing over 700,000 views at this time of writing which should reach a million by the following year as can be tracked here.
Happiness of the people is something of a puzzle to the Singapore government here. The system of administration in Singapore is totally efficient and clean yet the ruling party seems to be concerned about the trend of declining majority votes from previous elections. I did my own problem solving exercises as I was a little concerned for our younger children who have really grown up immersed in the Singapore system of life and education and shared some thoughts on Father's Day.
As an entrepreneurial management consultant in the business world, I am not a complainer but a doer. I did apply 3 times through the Minister of Social and Family Development who endorsed my long term stay application to the Immigration Authority in Singapore, and I even used a top banker friend of mine to provide the sponsorship the third time, but without any success. So I've become a travelling missionary of my own as far as Church is concerned and a mobile researcher, writer and consultant, having adapted from how we started ITC with offices and staff in a fixed location only in the early 80s to a modern day online worldwide presence.
Singapore is a safe and convenient place to meet and I was happy to have all the overseas children and their spouses come to Singapore for a BIG familylane reunion when Han returned from his mission in the UK. In a short time we could do many things together. It is really a beautiful city with many kind and courteous people I can see and experience for myself in my sojourns here shuttling between Malaysia and Singapore.

So today has been a special milestone in a couple of ways, one being the 2nd Anniversary of your departure and it's now coming to the end of this special day in Singapore . On this day, let it be put on record that having baked the first time with a successful Spaghetti Cheddar Casserole to kick off your 2nd anniversary commemoration, it will also end with the 2nd success of me baking again, this time it's a baked Lasagna making an impressive pasta dinner.
Call this a Cheesy ending of a memorable day or put in another way I left the ending Cheesy as that is the way life is! I'm happy I haven't lost my touch yet! Haha
With love from all of us
